In the aftermath of the Godswar was formed the Forge of Heaven. The last remnants of innumerable Worlds, drawn together by the power of the Shards, the last remaining motes of god-essence. Now, heroes are rising to the call: to take the Shards, seize their destiny, and take the place of the Gods That Were. Empires are birthed in their ambition, and wars are waged over their jealousies. Who will rise to the challenge and remake Creation in their image?

For as long as recorded history, certain men and women have been gifted with extraordinary abilities, granted the power to change the world around them through their actions.
In ancient times, we called them demigods and heroes, and either worshipped or reviled them.
In the Age of Reason, they disappeared. They went underground, forming a web of conspiracies that fought and wrangled over the direction of the world, while remaining little more than shadowy rumours.Thirteen months ago, that all changed.
A hero exposed the conspiracies, and brought these superhumans out into public view. Embraced by the world as long as they remain in the light, they shape distinctive public identities: superheroes and villains, tycoons and demagogues, they are the hope of the world, or its ruin.

The Phoenix Agenda
The year is 2047, and it is an age of technological marvels. Wireless telecomputing links people through a seamless web of information. Rocket planes and monorails reduce travel times to a fraction. Genetic manipulation and bionics have nearly conquered disease and famine.
It is also a time of social decay, intrigue and espionage. Canada and the US have collapsed in the wake of a Middle-Eastern nuclear war. Transnational corporations and criminal syndicates have undermined the authority of nations. Radicals and terrorists seek to strike at anything that does not conform to their ideals, while the man on the street embraces a creed of ignoring the unfamiliar. Wars are waged with terrifying secrets and black operations, while joe.login goes about his business ignorant of it all.
And under all of this, two conspiracies are locked in a battle over the fate of the greatest resource of all: the future.

A Shadow File to be presented at Flatland Fantasy 5.
Vancouver is a city at many crossroads, especially when seen from the strange shadows of the occult underworld. The Black Cat Tavern is the proverbial inn at those crossroads. Grungy, seamy and dangerous, this hole-in-the-wall acts as neutral territory for the gangs and supernatural factions of the city. Which, on nights when everything comes to a head, can make it a very interesting place to have a drink...
