Simon Olivers: Always a fan of conspiracy theories, Simon has discovered things that make him doubt the truth of what he's been told. Now he is being contacted by someone who claims to know "what's really going on". He wants to believe, but can he trust them?
Lauren Olivers: Simon's older sister. Her brother's odd hobby was a source of amusement, until it began taking over his life and affecting his personality. Now she's checking up on him, making sure he's okay and not going to do something...crazy.
eXile_112263: You know The Truth. The government isn't in control. They have been infiltrated by non-human life. Your knowledge of The Truth makes you the most dangerous and thus wanted man on earth, and you have come here to hide.
"Mr Black": When a man of your power, influence, and notoriety has tastes for the unconventional, you naturally adopt anonymity - in your case a pseudonym and a mask - and frequent only the most quality establishments with reputations for discretion. You have come for your usual session with Lady Persephone, but if she is unavailable, you'll find an acceptable substitute. Or five.
J.J. McVen: BASE jumping and freebase shooting - never mind drinking drugs and dancing - have gotten stale, and those in the know say that for the most EXTREME, to really push the limits of human experience - and tolerance - Club Hel is the only place to go.

This street gang has succeeded in spite of being on the wrong side of King and his syndicate. A rising power in the slums of the City, the Sunshine Band is still only a minor blip on the radar for people like the Merovingian.

Mary Sunshine: The streets of the City are a brutal place, especially for a woman. Mary carved herself a place by being that much smarter than the competition, and too tough to die.
Charlie "the Odds": Mary's second. He's known for giving odds on anything from sports book to the number of murders next Wednesday, and he always comes out ahead.
"Ollie": This brutal street fighter is the one nobody wants a visit from, because that means you've gotten on Mary's bad side.

The crew of the Zion ship Bolivar are here on a mission...to contact a potential recruit. The place wouldn't be their first choice for a meet, but you take what you can get...
Leatherneck: A grizzled and battered veteran of the Machine War, Leatherneck's waiting for the day when the enemy drops this pretense of truce. Until then, he's doing all he can to break free as many fellow humans as he can... even when that means slumming it with code monkeys.
Park: Saving the world is still a pretty strange concept for the youngest and newest member of the Bolivar's crew; Park's still riding the buzz of getting out of the tightest spot he's ever been in. He knows it's a big deal, being trusted to ride along on a job like this on his first trip back into the Matrix, but running into an old friend is a bit of a distraction.
Hazard: Between the Captain hunkering down against the ever-present Them, and the young'n taking every possible chance to put his ass in a sling, Hazard wonders if he's the only guy on this boat with a lick of sense. Keeping the rest of the crew safe and sound is a bigger job than he'd figured on, but it's his, and he's determined to get it done.

The details and priorities may have changed in the wake of the "peace" with Zion, but then primary purpose remains the same: protect the system. Remove threats. The current designated priority threat is Exiles.

Agent Cole (Mission Role: Coordinator): Cole is here to neutralize exiles. His mission states that in the interest of system stability, only those designated targets will be harmed.
Agent Slate (Mission Role: tactical force): Slate is a weapon, to be aimed and fired by Cole, based on Silvers' intel. He finds the destruction of system threats very satisfying.
Agent Silvers (Mission Role: intelligence and human liaison): Silvers has that most dangerous thing in an agent - to himself and others - a personality. His curiosity is endless, and he harbours a preference for non-violent solutions. He is mildly confused as to why he - with his greater affinity for humans, exiles and non-system sentience in general - was not chosen mission coordinator, but trusts in the system's judgment.

This gang of rogue programs is united by a common origin and methodology. They're here to make a deal with the Merovingian. Why is he absent?

Gold: Leader of the sensors and self-proclaimed master of all things sensual, Gold works with the Merovingian closely, waiting for any opportunity, opening, or weakness. Gold wants what all men with power want: more power.
Trio: The DJ of the sensors, with a gift for overhearing just the right things, Trio is invaluable to Gold's operatrions, but couldn't care less. He comnsisders himself an artist and just wants to be left alone to create masterpeices.
Supple: Supple's domain is touch, and she has parley'd this into a gift for both pain and pleasure, as well as mastery of the body in both combat and... other pusuits.
Chablis: Taste and smell are Chablis' specialioties, and s/he pursues them with a voracious appetite. Antthing Chablis wants, Chablis takes - food, drink, men, women, code, attention, influence... - and uses it to fuel the pursuit of MORE.
Pearl: Pearl feels she is the only Sensor to have retained clinical detachment and rationality since Exile. Pearl's function is to observe and report, nothing more, and she does her job, uncaring of the uses the information she supplies may be put to.

This tough-as-nails crew is a notable power on the street. Secretly, they are mostly Exiles, with strong ties to the Merovingian. Here for a meet-up with the Merovingian, they're a little puzzled as to his absence...

King: Generally regarded as a junkyard dawg with more balls than common sense, King is as tenacious an opponent at the negotiating table as he is on the killing floor. A blunter instrument than the Merovingian is known to favor, but who knows what kind of use the power broker might find in such a straightforward tool?
Cujo: Cujo's never met a fight he didn't like, and working as one of King's enforcers gives him plenty of opportunity to enjoy himself. This might be a sit-down discussion, but when someone gets out of line - and Cujo's sure they will - he'll be ready to smack them back into place.
Fenn: Fenn has a sharp nose for weakness, which gives the pack the strategic edge they need to put their own strengths to best use. It's lucky for King he's got Fenn at his right hand, and Fenn makes sure the pack knows it.
Cool: Cool's just sharp enough to know he's not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but what he lacks in smarts he more than makes up for in unwavering loyalty. What King says goes, and Cool will do his level best to make sure it happens, no matter what he needs to plow through to get there.
