Characters Empty Characters

Post  Mike McCall Fri Jul 30, 2010 1:53 am

The characters for Rites of Lilith are listed below, by faction. Unless a particular gender is listed in parentheses after the character's name, all genders are flexible. As characters are taken, new characters will be added. The goal is to keep the number of "monsters" and "hunters" balanced, for the best fight.

Please request characters by PM to me, or by email to grinning.gypsy@gmail.com. Ideally, list three characters you're interested in. At least one of the characters should be from the Blood Goddesses' faction, and at least one should be from one of the hunter factions.

Players who get me their character selections before September 15 will have the option of finishing their characters, spending up to 30 discretionary points and possibly adding Flaws. If you are interested in playing an original character concept, you can submit a character outline to me by September 1. No promises, however, and I reserve the right to assign you to an existing group of hunters. Any original characters must be built by the player (or a proxy) and handed in no later than October 1.

Characters Empty The Blood Goddesses

Post  Mike McCall Fri Jul 30, 2010 1:54 am

The Blood Goddesses: Before their fortuitous meeting, these two were both creatures of lust, each with a hunger in their very essences. They found each other, and found they sated those needs. Over the past 19 months, their bond has strengthened, and their essences have transmuted each other. Now, they seek the final ingredient to achieve their ascension to near-omnipotence.

Inanna: Once a minor goddess of lust, ekeing out an existence as a streetwalker, Inanna has grown in power as she has fed on the adoration and lust of her consort. However, her appetites are now darker, and she demands sacrifices as well as adoration. (Ayla C.)
Lamashtu: She was a vampire, a blood-drinker with seductive powers. Those powers have increased ten-fold, and while still undead, she now lives off pure life-force, driving her victims to paroxyms of lust before stealing their very souls. (Shyla Z.)

Jackson Rimes: This mysterious figure has positioned himself as a patron and supporter of the Blood Goddesses, but he is well-known for always being willing to make a deal...for the right price. (Jim T.)

Characters Empty Servants of the Blood Goddesses

Post  Mike McCall Fri Jul 30, 2010 1:56 am

The Goddesses have gathered around them a coterie of magicians and monsters. Some bask in the worship of their goddesses, while others seek the rewards promised for aiding their ascension.

Callisto: When the Goddesses found her, she was an innocent, in shock at the burden of newly-contracted lycanthropy. But they taught her to master her savage instincts, and gave her the home she had lost. Now she is their general, a brutal warrior who adores her mistresses. (Laura S.)
Vajra Kundalini: Tattooed and (reputedly) clad in human skin, Vajra Kundalini is a powerful practitioner of dark and twisted magic. Self-described as a "Tantric Slayer", Vajra Kundalini uses an esoteric blend of tantric and blood magics to grasp the fabric of the universe, and bend it to its will. (Jill B.)
Brad and George (male): This pair of vampires, turned by Lamashtu but not partaking of her semi-divine nature, are inseparable. Rapt in their adoration of Lamashtu (and Inanna), they are predatory around anyone else...including the Goddesses' other followers. (Kyle Y., Gray M)
Gardat, Alu and Illu: Servants of Inanna, these spirits of lust and carnage have possessed the bodies of local townsfolk. Their savage nature enhances their human hosts. (Matt K.)
"Kedeshah" Alice Robinson (female): Inanna's high priestess finds sacrifices and brings them to her goddesses. In return, she is granted powers as Inanna's vessel. Alice Robinson's life has certainly changed since she left academia.
The Scarecrow: In times past, this valley was home to a dark spirit. At harvest, the farmers made sacrifices so that the creature would leave them alone. The Goddesses woke this dark spirit, and bound it to their cause. (Joshua L.)
Mr. Skinner: Known only by his obvious pseudonym, this dark stalker takes trophies of his supernatural prey, and uses them to increase his own power. Why has he allied with the Goddesses, instead of hunting them...? (Matt M.)

Characters Empty "The Company"

Post  Mike McCall Fri Jul 30, 2010 2:00 am

Beyond the "alphabet soup" of the American government's intelligence organization, there is an agency known only as "the Company". Blacker than black, their task is to investigate, contain and control paranormal activities. Their agents have no names and their operations leave no traces.

Agent Kincaid: The team leader, Kincaid does the talking, gives the orders and makes the plans. (Steve Moore)
"Sam": In a situation like this, even the super-precise Company men need heavy support. Sam is that support: a cyborg capable of manifesting heavy armor and an array of weapons using strange nanotechnology. (Mark C.)
"Noah": While an experienced field operative, Noah's real contribution is an encyclopedic knowledge of the supernatural.
"Saul": The team's main spiritual combatant, Saul's psychic protections are complemented with training as a ritual exorcist. (Carson A.)

Characters Empty The Black Devils

Post  Mike McCall Fri Jul 30, 2010 2:03 am

Not all hunters work within the law. Some monsters have become adept at using their newfound rights to protect themselves against retribution for their crimes, and inspiring their victims to work outside those laws. The Black Devils are one such group, formed by a former Canadian Forces sergeant. Officially, they work as registered paranormal bounty hunters, but they are known to have "taken care" of things off the books.

Patty "Coach" Kinsella: When her family was lost, Sgt. Kinsella received a leave of absence, and then an early discharge. She has spent every day since hunting for those who killed her parents and sister. She's finally found them. She is the heart of the Black Devils, and its taskmaster.
"Padre" Michael Branson: Five years ago, Father Branson had a crisis of faith, and disappeared from his parish. Since then, he's been in the shadows, bringing God's protection to those who need it most...and God's wrath to those who need that.
Kelsey "Isis" Belzer: Always a misfit, Isis was eking out an existence as a fortune-teller on street corners, until Coach saved her from a creature's wrath. Since then, she has been honing her psychic talents, and using them as a weapon in the Devils' war on monsters.
Eric "The Suit" Givens: Up until "the incident" nine months ago, Eric Givens was one of The Company's top cleaners. Afterwards, he was a fugitive, hiding in Canada. He joined up with the Black Devils because they give him protection against his former masters. In return, they get the benefits of both his marksmanship and his training in paranormal affairs. (Des B.)
Bobby Barton: There's nothing that Bobby loves more than a good fight. One night, he pissed off a werewolf in a bar, and it was the best fight of his life. Since then, this scrapper has been fighting monsters. The rest of the Devils know he's crazy, but he's their kind of crazy.

Characters Empty The Other Monsters

Post  Mike McCall Fri Jul 30, 2010 2:04 am

Alexander Rothman, a notorious Vancouver ganglord (as well as being a vampire and a necromancer) lost his favoured "son" to Lamashtu's machinations. He has paid for a team of "bounty hunters" to come and deal with the Blood Goddesses.

Kelsey Rothman: "Adopted" into the Rothman clan for the purposes of avenging her older "brother", this is Kelsey's chance to rise above the streets. Provided she survives. (Liza F.)
Morgan Black: A black sorcerer spoken of in whispers in Vancouver's occult underworld, Morgan Black is said to be beyond the concerns of money, which begs the question: what did Alexander Rothman offer him? (Steve Marko)
Robert Frost: This hitman is said to have the blood of the devil himself running through his veins. Certainly, it's hard to believe that someone as deadly as he is fully human (Sacha R.)
“Frank”: An implacable warrior, stitched together from corpses and animated by Alexander Rothman's necromantic arts. His mission is destruction, but is there something more within?
Charlie “the Bite”: One of Rothman's lesser progeny, Charlie is an enforcer for the Rothman mob. His “dark gift” gives him strength, speed and an unquenchable hunger.

Characters Empty The Scions of Belmondo

Post  Mike McCall Thu Aug 26, 2010 6:08 pm

Sabian Belmondo: The latest in a line of vampire hunters running back through the Dark Ages, Sabian Belmondo wields the Lash of Dawn, weapon of his ancestors, against the forces of darkness.

Shannon Alba: In the catacombs of Spain, there exists an order of occultists who have tracked lineages of darkness through the ages. Alba is an agent of this secret order, with strange, occult tattoos that allow her to call on the abilities of the wampyr.
